Selective memory
Paintings: A collection of personal memories and stories, enhanced and corrupted by imagery from XVII to XIX century European art.
Photographs: AI retrospective interpretations of what could have been reference photographs for each painting.
This in-process series is exhibited alongside a collection of the short personal stories that informed the original paintings, as well as stories linked to the XVII to XIX century painting references used to create them. The resulting experience is a dialogue informed by personal, historical, observational and artificial content. This layering of different sources of information, which can lead to both the creation and loss of meaning, tests how we shape the complex stories we believe in, to build our understanding of our memories and ourselves.
